Sonam Targee Bio:

Sonam Targee has maintained a clinical practice combining Ayurveda, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and herbal medicine in Rochester, NY for over 30 years. He has studied extensively with His Holiness the 16th Karmapa, Master Mantak Chia, Baba Muktananda, Dr. Vasant Lad (founder of The Ayurvedic Institute), Dr. Robert Svoboda, Dr. Mahadevan, Dr. Hawkins, and Yeshe Donden (personal physician to His Holiness the Dalai Lama).  Sonam holds a Masters degree in Chinese Medicine and a Practitioner's Certification in Neuro-Linguistic Programming.  He is a graduate of the New England School of Acupuncture, and has been a long-time practitioner of yoga,  T'ai Chi and Qigong.  He is a member of the National Ayurvedic Medical Association.  


Sonam also holds a Bachelor's degree in Ethno-Musicology from Empire State College and performs regularly as a musician and leading groups in kirtan (sacred chanting), including a regular first-Friday kirtan at the Rochester clinic, monthly kirtan at the Rochester Labyrinthwalk and The Assisi Institute of Rochester, NY.  
He has lectured in yoga centers and hospitals around the country, his humble intention being to pass along the profound information that has been taught to him to help alleviate suffering and bring about healing for all living beings.
